
The City of Creedmoor is currently recruiting for Recreation Coordinators. Creedmoor’s population consists of 4,600 residents and is located approximately 20 miles North of Raleigh/RTP in Granville County, North Carolina. The City of Creedmoor is seeks part-time Recreation Coordinators to assist with the programming and operations of our new Creedmoor Community Center and at Lake Rogers Park and Marina. We are searching for park and recreation professionals of all backgrounds (athletics, arts and culture, outdoor education, youth and senior development) and degrees of experience. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Provide customer service and providing tours, assist callers or visitors with program information, center activities, fees, program requirements and rules, etc.
- Utilize Rec Desk (recreation management software) to create facility reservations, register participants for programs and events, enroll memberships and collect fees..
- Address janitorial issues (e.g., trash, restroom conditions, and facility cleanliness) in the absence of dedicated cleaning staff.
- Open and close the Community Center at designated times.
- Inspect facility and equipment, report and respond in a timely manner to issues of safety, cleanliness, accessibility, security, and facility integrity.
- Provide support for private special events (e.g., table set-up/breakdown, answer questions) and lead youth birthday parties.
Recreation Coordinators must be available to work three (3) days per week. This includes three (3) Saturdays per month (8am-5pm and 5pm-11pm), and multiple Tuesday-Friday, 2:45pm-9:15pm shifts up to 20 hours per week and with weekly hours varying greatly based on season and public demand for services (e.g., rentals and programming). This positon is a part-time position with no benefits and will pay $12 per hour.
Requirements.
Successful candidates should be at least one of the following: graduate from, or enrollment in, high school or GED equivalency supplemented by practical, work-related, or academic knowledge of one or more areas of public recreation (e.g., athletics, outdoor education, arts and culture, special event management) or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in recreation, exercise science, physical education or related field is preferred. Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old. Possession of a valid NC driver’s license with clean driving record, and the ability to pass a routine physical exam, pre-employment drug screening, and criminal background check are also required.
