MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN // PART TIME

The City of Creedmoor is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician (Part-Time). Creedmoor’s population consists of 4,600 residents and is located approximately 20 miles North of Raleigh/RTP in Granville County, North Carolina.  The Maintenance Technician will perform general landscape and facilities maintenance duties such as mowing grass, weed eating, seeding, edging, pruning, planting trees and shrubs and general clean-up activities in City Hall and/or the Community Center. Other tasks include small construction projects involving, mending chain link fences, removing trees, and other duties assigned. The employee will use various hand tools, small motorized equipment and riding and push mowers. Work is carried out by daily assignments and routine scheduled maintenance tasks; however, specific instructions and close supervision are received on new and special assignments by the Public Works Director. The Maintenance Technician position will create, edit and complete work orders, which requires ability to use computer and This employee is subject to hazards associated with maintenance work including working in both inside and outside environments, in extreme hot and cold weather, and requires the use of small to medium sized equipment, and exposure to various hazards such as loud noises, vibration, moving mechanical parts, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and oils.

Requirements.
Graduation from High School and/or experience in maintaining grounds and facilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must be a fast pace learner who can work independently, be able to use a computer and to learn work order software. Also, the final candidate must possess a valid NC driver’s license with a clean driving record. He or she must have the ability to pass a routine physical examination, pre-employment drug screening, and criminal background check is required. The hiring rate is $12.00 to $14.00 per hour, which depends on experience. Also, this position is an hourly and seasonal position without benefits.
